Nominate your water saving hero

Who can be a water saving hero

We invite each school to celebrate its water saving heroes.

Water saving heroes are students – individuals or groups – who are actively involved in saving water in your primary school.

Schools may like to start by identifying the student water saving hero – or heroes - in their school through class or school activities or competitions.

It’s up to each school to manage the Award in a way which works best for your school.

For example:

Your water saving heroes may be students who:
•    regularly spend time watering and taking care of the school garden
•    are the water saving class monitor
•    complete a fantastic project on how they save water in the school
•    belong to the environment committee

Selecting your water saving heroes

If you have registered for the BlueScope Tank A Day Challenge, please login to download the Rainchaser Award water saving hero form, otherwise please register.

Display the Rainchaser Award poster around the school.

Students

We are asking students to nominate to be a water saving hero. This allows students to recognise and celebrate their own water saving achievements in the school community.

Here are some ideas of how school students can nominate to be a water saving hero:

  1. Organise a class project on saving water where students can recognise their own water saving achievements.
  2. Ask students to write a short story or draw their water saving achievements.
  3. Ask students to tell the class about their water saving achievements and organise a class vote where students choose the water saving hero.
