BlueScope Community Tankover program for schools
The BlueScope Community Tankover Program aims to help restore aspects of community life in many areas of Australia that are affected by drought and water shortages.
By taking part in the Community Tankover Program, primary school students can learn how they can help improve and protect their local community from the broader effects of drought.
To take part in the BlueScope Community Tankover Program primary school principals are invited to nominate a community group that you feel would most benefit from a Tankover.
As part of the nomination, primary school principals must demonstrate the importance of the organisation to the school community, and the involvement of students in making the nomination. For example, you may like to nominate a community group to be considered for a Tankover by:
- organising a school petition or vote for students to take part in, or
- asking students to write a short story or show in pictures why the community group is important to the school community.
Once the nomination has been confirmed by BlueScope Steel, the community group will be alerted via email and asked to highlight how a Tankover would be of benefit to their organisation, and to the local community.
Schools that nominate a community group that is successful in the BlueScope Community Tankover program will receive a plaque to recognise their contribution.
If you are already a BlueScope Tank A Day Challenge member, please login to nominate a community group, otherwise please register.
