How can my school get involved?
All Australian primary schools are invited to register for the BlueScope Steel Tank A Day Challenge.
Only primary school principals may register their school. If you are a parent, guardian, friend or student, and know of a school that has not entered the challenge, speak to a teacher or the principal and encourage them to take up the challenge.
To be eligible to receive a rainwater tank, the school principal must:

To be eligible to receive a rainwater tank, the school principal must:
- Register the primary school and submit a submission of no more than 200 words about why conserving water is important to their school and what they are doing about it.
- Encourage students to complete the educational Rainchasers Water Saving Quiz. To find out more about the Tank A Day judging criteria click here.
- Ensure the primary school is able to make available a site for the rainwater tank that is:
- 6 square metres, levelled and clear of rocks and debris. Primary schools must be able to prepare the site with 150mm of clean sand that will form a base for the rainwater tank
- Adjacent or within 10 metres of a school building where there is working guttering that falls towards the down pipe, to ensure water flow during rainfall
- Close to a power outlet for connection of the rainwater tank pump.
