For community groups
The BlueScope Community Tankover Program aims to help restore aspects of community life that have been affected by the drought, and show primary school students that they too can help make a difference in their community.
BlueScope will provide a Tankover to the value of $30,000, to ten community groups across Australia.
A Tankover is an audit of the community group’s premises (for example, a clubhouse) by BlueScope Water, and installation of appropriate rainwater harvesting systems to suit the design of the premises and best meet the particular needs of the community group.
For example, a Tankover may be used to install a rainwater tank at a sports clubhouse or help install a rainwater irrigation system for a community garden or park.
To be in the running to receive a BlueScope Community Tankover a community group must be nominated by a local primary school.
Once BlueScope Steel has confirmed the nomination, the community group will be alerted via email and invited to demonstrate the benefits a Tankover would provide to the local community and primary school.
You will be asked to respond to the following questions:
- How would a BlueScope Community Tankover be of benefit to your community group and to the local primary school community?
- How are primary school students involved in your community group and what benefits does your group provide the school community?
To be eligible to receive a Tankover, the community groups must also confirm it meets the criteria of the Community Tankover program:
- is not for profit,
- is recognised by the local council, and
- has dedicated premises (eg clubhouse) fit to receive the Tankover
